Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has congratulated the Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture and son of former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Mohammed Babangida, on the occasion of his 54th birthday.
According to a media post by Honourable Bologi Ibrahim, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, on Monday, 2 January 2026, the Governor described the celebrant as a distinguished entrepreneur and philanthropist who has continued to make positive contributions to society.
Governor Bago noted that Mohammed Babangida has consistently demonstrated passion and commitment to improving the lives of young people, particularly through sports development and educational support programmes executed by his foundation.
He said these initiatives have complemented government efforts in youth empowerment and human capital development.
The Governor further stated that the wealth of experience, knowledge, and leadership qualities possessed by the celebrant earned him the appointment as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He added that Babangida’s role at the Bank is significant in driving agricultural development and supporting farmers across the country.
Governor Bago prayed for long life, good health, and more rewarding years for Mohammed Babangida, while reaffirming his administration’s readiness to sustain a strong relationship that will promote rapid growth and development in Niger State and Nigeria at large.
