At the unveiling of the online road on Wednesday during its quarterly media parley at the LASHMA Office in Alausa, Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary, LASHMA, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba said as an agency committed to ensuring access to affordable and quality healthcare for all Lagos residents, it is imperative that Lagosians are continuously informed, educated and enlightened about the State’s mandatory Social Health Insurance Scheme as well as the agency’s achievements and ongoing activities.

She said that the online radio would help the agency fully implement the Executive Order signed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, which mandated social health insurance for all residents, by carrying out sustained public awareness and education on the importance and mandatory nature of the scheme.

“The ILERA EKO Spotlight online radio will further expand the reach of the agency and deepen public awareness. It’s the first health insurance online radio in Nigeria.”

Zamba said doctors will be available online 24/7 to attend to enquiries by the people, answer questions and provide needed services.

She mentioned services under the Ilera-Eko Scheme to include the Telemedicine where residents can access medications through phone call, the Telehealth where residents can consult qualified medical professionals conveniently from their homes, offices, or markets.

The Permanent Secretary promised that the agency will continue to work tirelessly under the leadership of Mr. Governor to ensure the sustainability of the State’s Social Health Insurance Scheme.
