The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of dishonesty, claiming that divine intervention prevented his alleged bid to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
In a statement issued on Saturday by Kola Olabisi, APC’s Director of Media and Information in Osun, the party dismissed Adeleke’s denial of any defection plans, labeling his comments to PDP stakeholders as false.
According to the APC, Governor Adeleke had secretly approached the APC’s national leadership, hoping to secure an automatic ticket for the 2026 governorship election—a request that was rejected.
According to Daily Post, the party further alleged that Adeleke’s unsuccessful attempts were facilitated by prominent politicians and wealthy individuals from the Southwest, with a notable visit to APC stalwart Chief Bisi Akande in Ibadan cited as evidence.
“It was divine intervention that stopped him from entering our party, which could have led to chaos and disunity,” the APC said.
The party warned Adeleke to retract his denial or risk exposure of further details.
They also criticized his administration, calling it a “monumental disaster” despite his public perception of popularity.
