According to a report by Vanguard on Saturday, 19 July, 2025, former Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, has expressed satisfaction with President Bola Tinubu’s recent appointments to key federal agencies.
He described the move as a step towards strengthening national institutions and promoting effective leadership across the country.
Among the appointees is Mohammed Babangida, son of former military president Ibrahim Babangida, who was named chairman of the Bank of Agriculture.
Ndume said the choice of capable hands like Babangida signals Tinubu’s commitment to laying a solid foundation for institutional reform and national development.
The list of new appointments also includes Lydia Kalat Musa as Chairperson of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, and Jamilu Wada Aliyu as Chairman of the National Educational Research and Development Council.
Others are Yahuza Ado Inuwa, who will lead the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, and Sanusi Musa (SAN), appointed as Chairman of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution.
Ndume, who represents Borno South in the Senate, also recalled that President Tinubu had earlier appointed 12 persons from the North into major roles back in May.
He said this pattern shows that the president is listening to regional concerns and is ready to make inclusive decisions.
