…….LASIEC celebrates credible polls,free and fair election.
The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC),has officially presented certificates of return to the newly elected Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and Councillors across local government areas and local council development areas in the state.

Presiding over the occasion was the Chairman of LASIEC, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (rtd), who led the electoral team credited with conducting one of the most transparent elections in the history of local governance in Lagos State.

In her welcome address, Justice Okikiolu-Ighile acknowledged political parties, electoral commissioners, elected candidates, the press, and distinguished guests.She expressed her gratitude to God for preserving lives and extended appreciation to the people of Lagos State for their active participation in the electoral process, which, she said, was only successful due to the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders and agencies.
She congratulated all elected candidates, stating that the presentation of certificates of return was LASIEC’s official affirmation of the people’s mandate. She further praised the Nigerian security agencies, including the Police, Army, Navy, Air Force, DSS, State Security, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, for their strategic deployment and swift response in maintaining law and order throughout the election period. She expressed deep appreciation to her team at LASIEC for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to the success of the elections.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected officials, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, Chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, pledged to prioritise infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture. He announced plans to collaborate with the Lagos State Government and extend agricultural initiatives.He went further that his leadership style emphasizes collective effort, ensuring everyone is carried along in which they believe that delivering dividends of democracy requires a team effort, and they’re committed to taking their local government, Egbe Idimu, to the next level.
He then said he has a track record of community service, having coordinated student transportation since 2020,and determined to continue this work, leveraging their experience to make a positive impact.He assured constituents that his leadership would be inclusive, empathic, and impactful.
The ceremony, held amidst an atmosphere of celebration and pride, was attended by top government officials, leaders of political parties, elected representatives, their families and supporters, the press, and other key stakeholders. The event marked the culmination of a six-month electoral process widely hailed as free, fair, and credible.
The event stood as a strong testament to the vibrancy of democratic governance at the grassroots level in Lagos State.
