The Quest Merchant Bank and Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) teams during the Community Quest cleaning initiative in Lagos, working together to create a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable community at Broad Street, Lagos Island.
Quest Merchant Bank Limited has successfully concluded the 2026 edition of Questember, its inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) month, with impactful initiatives centred on financial literacy, environmental sustainability, health and wellbeing, and community development.
Held throughout September, Questember brought employees together to support communities through meaningful interventions that reflect the Bank’s commitment to creating positive social impact beyond the provision of financial services.
As part of the programme, the Bank engaged students at Girls Secondary Grammar School (GSGS), Ikoyi, through a financial literacy and health education outreach. Senior Secondary School Two (SS2) students participated in interactive sessions on money management, saving, responsible financial decision-making, healthy lifestyle choices, and career development. The engagement concluded with an interactive quiz designed to reinforce key lessons and encourage practical application.
In promoting environmental sustainability, Quest Merchant Bank organised a community clean-up exercise and donated waste bins to support proper waste management. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with officials of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and encouraged responsible waste disposal and greater community ownership of environmental stewardship.
The Bank also extended support to vulnerable members of the community through its Food Bank Initiative, distributing food items to residents within its host community. In addition, employees visited Living Fountain Home, where they donated essential items and spent time engaging with the children as part of the Bank’s broader commitment to community wellbeing and social inclusion.
Recognising the importance of employee wellness, the Bank also implemented Quest2Wellness, a month-long fitness challenge designed to encourage healthier lifestyles, increased physical activity, and greater awareness of personal wellbeing among employees.
Commenting on the initiative, Afolabi Olorode, Acting Managing Director/CEO, Quest Merchant Bank Limited, said:
“Questember represents more than a calendar of CSR activities. It provides an opportunity for us to translate our commitment to responsible banking into meaningful action within the communities we serve. Through financial education, environmental initiatives, employee wellness activities, and support for vulnerable groups, we are leveraging our people, resources, and expertise to create sustainable impact and contribute to positive social outcomes.”
The 2026 Questember programme reflects Quest Merchant Bank’s broader commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices. By bringing together employees, partners, and community stakeholders, the Bank continues to champion initiatives that promote financial literacy, wellbeing, environmental responsibility, and social development, while creating lasting value for the communities it serves.
