
Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade has been officially recognized as the new Alaafin of Oyo following the approval of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
His selection came after extensive consultations and recommendations by the Oyomesi, the traditional kingmakers.
Born in 1978 to the esteemed Owoade-Agunloye royal family in Oyo town, Prince Owoade is an accomplished Nigerian-Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist.
He is the president of 100279 Manitoba Limited, a real estate investment and financial services company based in Manitoba, Canada.
Prince Owoade’s educational journey began at Baptist High School in Saki, Oyo State.
He then pursued engineering studies at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, and the Polytechnic, Ibadan, earning his National and Higher National Diplomas in Mechanical Engineering.
According to The Nation, he later completed his NYSC service with Nigeria Gas Company.
He furthered his education abroad, earning a B.Sc. from the University of Sunderland in the UK and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Northumbria University.
Certified in Project Management in 2015, he worked in various roles, including a planning engineer position at Oil Reach Company in Glasgow.
Currently, he serves as a Project Coordinator at Manitoba Hydro, one of Canada’s largest utility providers.
His deep commitment to his profession and community continues to shape his impactful journey in both Canada and Nigeria.
