The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has received the endorsement of teachers across Ogun State as their preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The endorsement was announced during an interactive session with teachers held on Monday, August 03, 2026, at the Ake Pavilion, Ake Palace, Abeokuta, Ogun State, where leaders and members of teachers’ unions and support groups unanimously declared their support for Senator Adeola’s governorship aspiration.

The endorsement was jointly endorsed by the leadership of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), the Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON), the Association of Primary School Teachers of Nigeria (APSTON), the Egba Teachers Association (EGTA), Distinguished Educators, the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), and YAYI Teachers. The State Executive members and executives from the 20 local government areas signed the endorsement document, which was subsequently ratified through a voice vote by thousands of teachers in attendance.

Responding to the endorsement, Senator Adeola expressed profound gratitude to the teachers for their overwhelming support and confidence in his leadership, pledging to make education a cornerstone of his administration through sustained investment in educational infrastructure, enhanced teachers’ welfare, improved learning environments, and policies aimed at raising the standard of education across Ogun State.
