Former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has paid a courtesy visit on the Olubadan- designate Dr Lekan Balogun, promising to prostrate in obeisance to the soon-to-be installed monarch on his next visit.
Obasanjo, who breezed into Balogun’s Alarere residence without an entourage, was led by the former Chairman, Ibadan North-East Local Government area of Oyo State, Mr Gbenga Adewusi.
He was said to have joined the monarch on the dining on his arrival after which they retired to a corner for a private discussion.
It was gathered that the private chat did not last for more than five minutes after which the former President and his host exchanged banters.
It was while leaving the monarch that Obasanjo reminded the monarch that he had not prostrated for him with a promise to do so when next he visits.
Reacting to the visitation, Balogun, who was a senator during Chief Obasanjo’s first term as President (1999-2003), said it was a meeting of brothers, recalling Obasanjo sent emissaries to him some weeks ago to congratulate him.
Balogun declined comments on their private discussion.
He just said: “The visit was short, but it was fruitful and very presidential”.
