Hon. Rukayat Shittu, Nigeria’s youngest lawmaker and Chairman of the House Committee on Youth and Sports at the Kwara State House of Assembly, has arrived in Morocco to provide on-the-ground support for the Super Eagles in their continental campaign.
The lawmaker was seen actively engaging with Nigerian fans, players, and team officials, rallying morale ahead of the national team’s high-stakes matches. Her visit is part of a broader effort to boost the spirits of the players and reinforce the importance of sports in national development.
Speaking from Morocco, Hon. Shittu emphasized that her presence is a testament to the power of sports as a unifying force. She noted that the Super Eagles serve as vital ambassadors of national pride, bridging ethnic and political divides through their performance on the pitch.
“As a young Nigerian and Chairman of the House Committee on Youth and Sports, I believe our athletes deserve visible support—not just from home, but on the ground,” Shittu stated. “The Super Eagles carry our collective hopes, and it is essential they feel the nation standing firmly behind them.”
Commending Resilience and Unity
Hon. Shittu lauded the team for their discipline and resilience, urging the players to remain focused on the ultimate goal of victory. She also extended her gratitude to the Nigerian supporters who traveled across the continent, describing their passion as a demonstration of enduring national unity.
