Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Nigeria has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Nigeria’s economic growth and development, emphasising its confidence in the country’s potential and its determination to continue contributing to a responsible and sustainable business environment.

With 18 years of business operations in Nigeria, the company says its enduring presence reflects a strong commitment to the country, its people and the creation of sustainable value for stakeholders.

The General Manager of JTI Nigeria, Mr Abdallah Simba, reiterated the company’s position while reflecting on Nigeria’s development journey and the significance of its recent 66th Independence Anniversary.

He noted that JTI’s business philosophy places considerable emphasis on responsible corporate conduct, regulatory compliance, employee development and constructive stakeholder engagement.

“Our commitment to Nigeria goes beyond our business operations. As Nigeria celebrate the important milestone of its 66th independence, we recognise the importance of building a responsible and sustainable enterprise that contributes positively to the country’s development while creating long-term value for our employees, partners and stakeholders,” Simba said.

He explained that JTI Nigeria’s operating philosophy is anchored on high standards of corporate governance, ethical business practices and respect for the regulatory environment.

Simba also highlighted the company’s commitment to building an inclusive workplace where employees are empowered through professional development, diversity, equal opportunity and a culture of mutual respect.

He maintained that responsible corporate citizenship remains essential to building enduring businesses, particularly in highly regulated industries where compliance, transparency and accountability are fundamental to sustainable operations.

As Nigeria continues to navigate an evolving economic environment, Simba expressed confidence in the country’s resilience and its capacity to create opportunities for sustainable business growth.

He reaffirmed JTI Nigeria’s determination to maintain its responsible corporate presence, strengthen stakeholder relationships and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s long-term economic aspirations.
