Nigerian billionaire fashion designer Oluwaseyi Adekunle, popularly known as Seyi Vodi, has revealed that he now earns as much as $300,000 (about N400 million) to sew a single outfit.

The Abuja-based designer made this known during a recent interview where he opened up on his journey to wealth and success in the fashion industry.

From Humble Beginnings to Billionaire Status

Speaking during the interview, Seyi Vodi shared that his first earnings were just N3,600, which he received during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

He explained that while many of his peers spent their allowance, he was already thinking about how to invest and grow his income.

According to him, his entrepreneurial mindset started at a young age, recalling how he sold sachet water in the barracks and learned early how small money could multiply.

From N500 to Millions Per Outfit

The designer revealed that he once charged as little as N500 to sew a cloth in his early days.

However, through years of consistency, branding, and strategic positioning, he now commands luxury prices, earning hundreds of thousands of dollars per outfit for elite clients.

“I now earn $300,000 (N400M) just to sew a single cloth,” he stated.

High-Profile Clients and Influence

Seyi Vodi has built a strong reputation among Nigeria’s elite, attracting top politicians, celebrities, and business figures.

Some of his notable clients include Kashim Shettima, Davido, Burna Boy, Uzor Kalu, Ademola Adeleke, 2Baba, K1 De Ultimate, Obi Cubana, Richard Mofe-Damijo, and Ayo Makun, among others.

Luxury Office and Expanding Brand

In 2025, the designer made headlines after unveiling a multi-billion-naira palatial office space in Abuja, further cementing his status as one of Nigeria’s leading fashion entrepreneurs.

Education and Recognition

Seyi Vodi studied Geology at the University of Maiduguri and hails from Osun State.

He has also been honored with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in recognition of his contributions to fashion and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
