The contest for tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup intensifies today as African teams battle in crucial qualifiers across the continent. With teams fighting to secure spots in the next round, today’s fixtures could prove decisive.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be under the spotlight, as they take on Zimbabwe at 4:00 PM. The Super Eagles finally secured their first win of the campaign with a 2-0 victory over Rwanda. But they remain fourth in Group C. A win today is vital to keep their qualification hopes alive, especially with group leaders, South Africa, already on 10  points. Elsewhere in the same group, Benin face South Africa, while Rwanda host Lesotho.

Other African heavyweights are also in action. Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Morocco, and Tunisia are leading their respective groups and look well on course to qualify. Morocco will aim to extend its dominance when it faces Tanzania at 9:30 PM, while Senegal takes on Togo in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

Cameroon hosts Libya at 7:00 PM, while Algeria faces Mozambique in a late-night fixture at 9:00 PM. Both teams will be looking to strengthen their grip at the top of their groups.

All the matches will air live on SuperSport channels on GOtv. Fans can catch the action and follow their favourite teams as they fight for a place at the World Cup. Subscribe or reconnect via the MyGOtv app to enjoy all the action live.
