Telecommunications and digital solutions service provider, Globacom, has said that its Examination Preparatory Service was created specially to help students do well in computer-based tests and give them success in critical and important examinations.
The company, in apparent response to the low scores of students in the recently concluded 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), stated that the Glo Examination Preparatory Service teaches students how to perform well in computer-based tests like the Junior and Senior West African Examination Council exams, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams, and the IELTS.
Concerns were raised by the fact that over 1.5 million of the 1.9 million applicants whose results were made public scored below 200 in the 2025 UTME, which was announced by JAMB on May 5. According to the breakdown, 488,197 candidates (24.97%) received scores between 140 and 159, while 983,187 candidates (50.29%) received scores between 160 and 199.
“The Glo Examination Preparatory Service will help combat poor examination performances, especially among secondary school students who take the listed exams,” Globacom said in a press statement in Lagos.
According to the company, the programme provides a focused approach to exam preparation, enabling students to become acquainted with the structure, format, and subject matter of the tests they will be taking. Globacom noted that “by engaging with these practice materials, students can identify areas of weakness, reinforce their understanding of key concepts, and develop effective exam-taking strategies”.
Glo stated that users can sign up for the service, which covers up to 20 subjects and includes links to educational videos and materials, by dialing *20791*6# on their mobile lines and choosing the exam they want to take from the menu. The service charges the user the applicable price for each successful subscription, and each content includes specific categories, such as JSCE (Junior Secondary Certificate Exam), SSCE (Senior Secondary Certificate Exam), UTME Exam (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exam), also known as JAMB, and A-Levels Exams.
The service offers helpful advice on how to become accustomed to the format, structure, and kinds of questions that will be asked in the exams, which will increase their chances of passing them. It also points out areas in which they might be having challenges and show them how to overcome those difficulties by actively responding to practice questions that will help them better understand the important ideas and concepts they have studied. Glo added that the active recall “improves long-term retention and comprehension.”
Customers who choose to use this service will have access to trivia questions based on the exam syllabus, and the top exam scorers will receive amazing cash, data, and airtime rewards.
