The federal lawmaker also charged the youth to come up with strategy and candidate selection criteria to enable the electoral make an informed decision in the 2023 general election, stressing that a united Nigeria’s teeming youth has the capacity to do so.

The statement read:

“It’s exactly two years since the tragic incident at the Lekki Toll Gate, and nothing has changed. This is proof that nothing will change unless we work collectively towards it.

“The youth make up the larger percentage of the Nigerian population, which leaves the decision-making of the next set of leaders in your hands.

“As we remember the casualties of the protests, let’s keep the fire burning and apply the same energy to our civic responsibility. Pick up your PVC, if you haven’t done so yet, and vote for competent and accountable candidates. A united Nigeria’s teeming youth has the capacity to usher in a pro-youth government.

“It’s less than four months to the 2023 general election, I expect the youth to start strategizing and coming up with candidate selection criteria that will influence the electorate to usher in a new system.”
