Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have your very own Nigerian version of Step Up? If you grew up watching the iconic dance movie that made everyone want to break into a routine in the middle of the mall, or at least wish they could, then get ready because Africa Magic has made that dream a reality with its brand-new movie, Rise Again.
Rise Again follows the story of a group of young, passionate dancers determined to make a name for themselves in a world that constantly tests their resilience. It’s a story about ambition, friendship, competition, and the power of second chances, told through movement, music, and emotion.
Poised as Nigeria’s first-ever dance movie drama, Rise Again brings something refreshingly different to Nollywood, a genre we’ve admired from afar. It’s got energy, attitude, and heart, with storytelling that mirrors the hustle, talent, and determination of today’s youth.
At the centre of the film are some of Big Brother Naija’s most expressive stars, Liquorose, Hermes, Saskay, and Kokobykhole, just to name a few, each bringing a new side of themselves to the big screen. BBNaija has become the ultimate launchpad for young talents, and Rise Again is proof. The show keeps producing stars who go beyond TV fame, and this movie gives them another chance to shine. Liquorose, known for her electrifying dance background, is right in her zone, while Hermes, Saskay, and Koko add their own spark of creativity, drama, and flair. It’s BBNaija meets Nollywood, and the combo works perfectly.
Beyond the choreography, Rise Again dives deep into real struggles, the fear of failure, the pressure to succeed, and the courage to rise after every setback. It’s a film that captures the spirit of every dreamer, especially in a country where talent is abundant but opportunities are hard-won.
With its mix of star power, storytelling, and fresh genre exploration, Rise Again is a must-watch. Catch new episodes every Sunday, on Africa Magic Showcase at 8 pm, GOtv Channel 8 and DStv Channel 151.
