The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commiserated with President Bola Tinubu, the Federal Government and the Nigerian Air Force over the crash of Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 (Registration: NGR 931) in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area, Ondo State, on Monday.

He expressed sadness over the death of the passengers and crew members, describing their passing as a very painful loss.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who is the Chairman of South-West Governors Forum, expressed his condolences in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, on Tuesday.

The Governor also commiserated with families, friends and associates of the 25 victims of the crash, which comprised 20 passengers and five crew members.

Governor Sanwo-Olu prayed that God would grant the deceased eternal rest and grant the families they left behind the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable losses

He said: “My heartfelt condolences to President Bola Tinubu and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, over the tragic air mishap that claimed the lives of 25 passengers, including crew members in Ondo State.

“This is a very painful loss. On behalf of the Government and people of Lagos State, I pray that the Nigerian Air Force, families and friends of the victims of the aircrash will find the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
