I am deeply saddened by the devastating floods that have affected many homes and families across Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area.
My heart goes out to all residents who have been displaced, suffered losses, or are currently facing hardship, as a result of this unfortunate disaster.
To every affected family, please know that you are not alone in this difficult moment. I share in your pain and extend my heartfelt sympathy and prayers to you.
I pray that Almighty God grants you strength, comfort, and the courage to overcome these challenges.
The recurring flooding we experience during the rainy season calls for urgent and collective action. While I appeal to the Lagos State and Local Government authorities to intensify the dredging of primary drainage channels and strengthen emergency response and relief efforts, I also urge all residents to play their part by keeping our environment clean and taking preventive measures seriously.
I, therefore, encourage every resident of Oshodi-Isolo to clear blocked drains and gutters around their homes and communities to ensure the free flow of water, and more importantly, to desist completely from dumping refuse into drainage channels. This is one of the main causes of the flooding issues.
Environmental responsibility is a collective duty, and together, we can significantly reduce the impact of flooding and build a safer, cleaner and more resilient community.
I stand in solidarity with all affected residents, and pray for quick recovery from the losses suffered. May Almighty God protect every home, provide for every family in need, and guide our leaders and emergency agencies in their efforts to bring relief and support to our people.
