Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Mayoress Distributes Palliatives to Constituents
The Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada has distributed food stuffs worth several millions of Naira to her Constituents under the “Operation Feed the Elderly/Widows/Vulnerable Initiative”.
The 3-Day event which commenced with the distribution of palliatives to the less privileged and vulnerables in Shangisha, Orishá, proceeded to Akinpelumi before terminating at Aromire communities recorded a large turnout as people smiled homes with packs if food stuffs containing rice, beans and garri(cassava flakes).
Flanked by her team of political leaders and career officers, the Mayoress also led her team to Kiokio Community and ward G in Ajegunle area of the LCDA after which they moved to Banjo community in Agiliti Ward F and Segun Salam area of Ward E.
In her address, the Mayoress, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada said her administration has being passionately implementing the initiative which started long before the fuel subsidy removal by President Bola Ahmad Tinubu.
“I recognized the need to care for those who have paved way for us and those who face unique struggles in our society. It is our duty to ensure that they are not forgotten or left behind”.
She assured that the program will not stop anytime soon as the council remain committed to continued provision of support to “our elderly, widows, vulnerables and less privileged. No one should go to bed hungry in our community and we will do everything in our power to make sure of that”.
While calling on Nigerians to to foster a sense of community and unity among people, Princess Samiat said the program is about showing compassion, love and respect for the senior citizens who have “given their strength, wisdom and resources to build our community and we must honor and cherish them. Our widows have have faced unimaginable loss and challenges and we must support and uplift them”. She added that “our vulnerable individuals need our care, protection, advocacy and we must stand by them”.
